What's in a Name?Pekingese were the constant companions of the Chinese Emperor, and as he made his way to the audience room in the Forbidden City, many of the dogs led the procession announcing his arrival with sharp little barks. This was a cue for all lesser mortals to avert their faces. More little dogs followed the Emperor holding their heads high and carrying in their mouths the train of his Royal robes. These little dogs were held with such affection and esteem by their masters that they were often given titles such as "Viceroy" or Imperial Guardsmen. About this WebsiteThis website was brilliantly designed by Phebe and Les Eglauer (click to contact if you wish) and updated my by nephew, Nick Kennedy(click to contact). One of their excellent suggestions was to have a "core" base of material on the site and keep my readership updated on Viceroy activities through a regular newsletter.....hence the link to Newsletters on the left. The basic website is about the genesis of Viceroy Pekingese and my canine family as at January, 2009. The Newsletters will carry updated information about my canine kids, recent show results, puppy news and other information that you may enjoy. They are presented in an Adobe Reader PDF format and can be read by downloading the software (free of charge) at: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html Bookmark my site now and check back often to get the latest "scoop" about Viceroy Pekingese. |
