About UsHOW VICEROY GOT STARTED In September of 2003, I attended a dog show in Edmonton and was introduced to a wonderful woman named Anita Johnson. Anita, a confirmation judge also runs the Edmonton Kennel Club rescue and works very hard at trying to place unfortunate animals in loving homes. I explained to Anita that I had become completely enamoured by the Pekingese breed and that I was looking for one. Anita had an adult female at the rescue (papers and all) and asked me if I would be interested. I told her I was, and after an interview with Anita and an introduction to “Fizzy", I came home with my lovely girl. There was only one stipulation: I had to show her at least once. Anita understood that both Fizzy and I had never done this before and was willing to help us. Seven months later, with Fizzy in full, beautiful coat and me with a bad case of “nerves”, we both entered the ring for the first time. Fizzy showed beautifully and took Best of Breed. She even beat out a AM/CAN multiple best in show champion that day. Three weekends later. Fizzy became my first champion (see picture) and I was “bitten” with the show bug. And the rest, they say, is history!
Today, I have a select, little kennel in Alberta, Canada. I show throughout the spring, summer and fall show seasons. I breed only to do my part in preserving and improving the Pekingese breed. Occasionally, I have show and pet puppies available. (inquiries welcome).
